Sounds promising. If they're planning to have less cutscenes in this one then that's good too.
It is cool with the hardcore, it's just not cool with the 'hardcore' - just like with the Wii.
Hopefully over the next year more people will give Kinect a shot when certain titles are released. They definitely need to bundle it with Xbox 3.
Jumping the gun a bit, don't you think?
As usual with these look ahead articles the Kinect games from TGS aren't mentioned - they include fucking Steel Battalion and Project Draco but, hey, neither of those series are 'hardcore', lol.
I'm really excited about 2012's offerings but as we all know, games will be delayed, others will be announced, and some will inevitably suck. So saying one console has the best lineup at this point is...
Generations was a lot of fun and some great fan service. I'd probably say the 2D bits were better than 4e1, hopefully episode 2 will follow suit.
They missed the two most impressive ones - Jutekki and Ryse.
Altogether though, from the six or seven exclusives we currently know of, 2012 is set to be incredible for 360.
Firstly, the age comments are totally uncalled for - the game is awful, that's my opinion, and if you can only defend it by resorting to personal attacks (or trying to claim I haven't played it..) then shame on you.
Secondly, no matter how much time the bedroom-bound amateurs spend painstakingly crafting their recreation of the first stage of Super Mario, it will still always be vastly inferior to just playing the ACTUAL first stage of Super Mario.
The problem with games that let you make your own levels is that you're not a game designer, so anything you make is basically worthless.
When you're making them with LBP's awful, awful platforming engine they're even more worthless.
It can do shooting, that's actually one of its strengths. And strategy games - casual?
I think it still largely remains to be seen exactly what can or can't be done with Kinect.
Maybe some genres will never work, maybe some will be better when combined with a controller..
You're right dude..
..that did sound fanboyish.
Kinect has had an excellent first year in my opinion and I'm really glad Microsoft are focusing on it - screw the 'core' gamers who think otherwise!
It's really a shame Move and Kinect (and Wii too) are pitted against eachother all the time, usually by system warriors who don't use either of them.
In the future? If you're not interacting emotionally with games in the here and now - and indeed haven't always been - you're doing it wrong.
Sonic Generations deserves a nod, was a real return to form. I'm just about to start into Rayman - but I suspect Mario Land is the worthy champ.
It's unfortunate that people are so hung up on price / amount of content, on the enjoyment front alone I got more 'value' from CoE than many other titles this year.
First stealth kill in Deus Ex. Oh, and Kryll Finger in Gears of War 3.. lovely stuff!
*edited dumb comment*
Nevermind lol, Merry Christmas!
You are currently on a videogames forum bitching about people talking about videogames.
Yikes, misinformation overload.
Kinect sold over 750,000 in the US during Black Friday week, total sales are, what, in excess of 10m?
None of those companies have cancelled titles, lol.
Sega have released a couple of Kinect games, including Rise of Nightmares - which anyone who appreciates arcade gaming would enjoy.
Just lol at your 'one Bioware game' comment. Yeah, only Mass Effect 3.
Notic...
It's only bombed in Japan, which was to be expected, but that's effectively balanced out by its unprecedented US success.
Crytek, From Software, Grounding, Double Fine, Konami, Grasshopper, Nana On Sha and Terminal Reality are supporting with standalone games next year - I'd expect Sega, Frontier, Harmonix etc to continue to as well, plus the MS studios who have already made games.
And that's before mentioning the boatload of massive games...
Such a great year for 360 gamers, best in a few in my opinion.
That's in no small part down to the success story of Kinect.
It's easy to forget the device has only just passed its first birthday but already has trademark franchises, support from top developers the world over and, looking ahead, an awesome lineup for 2012.
If next year is the 360's last it's going out strong!
Neither Tarantino nor Hitchcock have made videogames so that headline means nothing to me.
As long as the new Alan Wake is a good third person shooter like the first one i'll happily play it.
